OUR PURPOSE

‘Creating our best world, a ton at a time’

Our sustainability and net zero commitments go well beyond corporate image and reputation.

The lives of billions of people around the world, and the integrity of ecosystems are at risk of irreversible damage due to the unsustainable extraction of natural resources and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The consequence of inaction poses the largest threat to the wellbeing of our planet.

‘Creating Our Best World, a Ton at a Time’ is our Purpose and our pledge to protect the globe’s natural capital, while fostering the social and economic development of the wider community.

By adopting a 'People', 'Planet', and 'Prosperity' approach, CDE strives to elevate the wellbeing of its people and the wider community while working towards net zero operations by at least 2050.

Our Taskforce

At CDE we have a dedicated taskforce focusing on Sustainability. This taskforce is comprised of three separate pillars – The Education Committee, Environmental & Net Zero Committee, and the Safety & Wellbeing Committee – each with their own strategic plan and roadmap aligned to the overarching strategy.

Environmental Impact and Commitment

Our commitment to the environment is at the heart of everything we do. We focus on delivering innovative solutions that promote resource efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize environmental impact. By championing circular economy principles, we strive to turn waste into valuable resources, reduce pollution, and drive sustainability across industries. Our approach not only supports our customers in achieving their environmental goals but also helps to create a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Each year, billions of tons of soil are discarded worldwide, representing a substantial waste of valuable resources. In many regions, the potential of this waste stream remains largely untapped. When treated and repurposed, discarded soils hold significant potential to:

  • Mitigate sand scarcity
  • Alleviate pressure on diminishing landfill space
  • Reduce unnecessary emissions
  • Enhance the economic viability of infrastructure projects
  • And more...

Together with our customers we are diverting tens of millions of tons of material from landfill each year, protecting sands in areas where natural reserves are in decline, and enabling production to happen closer to markets.

We are minimizing environmental impact.

We are creating game-changing solutions.

We are prioritizing people and the planet.

CDE-Net-Zero-670x520

Our Net Zero Pledge

We are committed to:

  • Decreasing our Scope 1 & 2 net emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieving a complete reduction of 100% net emissions by at least 2050, measured from the base year (2022).
  • Actively involving our supply chain in emission reduction efforts and striving for a 100% reduction in our Scope 3 net emissions by at least 2050, again measured from the base year.

Social Commitment:

Our commitment to social responsibility is rooted in tangible actions, strategic initiatives, and an unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of our employees as well as the communities in which we operate.
