THE CHALLENGE

MSIS is an industrial cleaning company that carried out tank cleaning, waste disposal and sewage collections from effluent tanks and septic tanks from public and private sectors.

The problem faced by the company was that they had to transport the sewage at their site in Invergordon all the way to Aberdeen which is a 3 hour travel each way with the tanker. This means it was taking the tanker all day and it was costing the company money instead of making them money.

THE SOLUTION

MSIS found out about CDE through one of their drivers. They were looking for a solution and he came across the MSU:10  while at a customer's premises. He took a video of it to show his team, the company then filled out an online form and they say the “rest is history”.

The MSU:10  is a portable sludge screen designed which was of major benefit to MSIS. It facilitated efficient solid and liquid separation from sewage sludges and allowed for maximum dewatering of screenings to minimise waste volumes and disposal costs.

The MSU:10s small footprint was also a benefit to MSIS.

THE RESULTS

Working with CDE allowed MSIS to reduce their transport costs alongside being able to process their waste on site. Solid liquid separation ensures that the rag is removed at the point of discharge therefore protecting the down stream processes.

Have a mobile solution was key for MSIS to allow for rapid deployment whether it be at an import sludge facility or a remote island off the coast of Scotland.

“The solution helped us because the tanker now doesn't have to spend time travelling back and forth to Aberdeen to dispose off the sewage. We've saved money with the running costs of the tanker and within 6 months, the machine paid for itself."
